Team "B" has umm, potential. Could send a competitive "C" team as well. We are fortunate to have a ridiculous amount of talent when it comes to hockey in this country. Any rules with regards to late invitations e.g. maximum amount of players in camp etc.? Kane, Spezza, Benn and Campbell, maybe even in that order, are the most notable oversights in my, completely irrelevant, opinion :) Ward as well perhaps, but who do they replace on the original roster? How much weight does the players current season to date have, as to whether or not they are selected later in the process? Regardless of the team they eventually decide to ice, there will be critics as it is impossible to please a country full of hockey fans....all with their own opinion on who should be playing.Jeff Irvinenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8806695801926311947.post-75465594182497206452013-07-23T16:17:40.991-04:002013-07-23T16:17:40.991-04:00Never going to happen, but after seeing a list lik...Never going to happen, but after seeing a list like this, it makes me wish Canada could enter two teams into the Olympic hockey tournament. Two chances to win the Olympic gold... or double the outcry if neither make the finals.

I would have to look it up, but I guess countries cannot enter more than one team for team events, unlike individual events where countries can enter multiple athletes, like Jamaica having three runners in the 100m finals.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08542104465194253434noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8806695801926311947.post-64082256092007131922013-07-11T14:39:30.121-04:002013-07-11T14:39:30.121-04:00You couldn't have waited 15 days to write this...You couldn't have waited 15 days to write this?Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02605824634182913298noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8806695801926311947.post-81906301070532070952012-05-11T08:30:46.506-04:002012-05-11T08:30:46.506-04:00I knew this would tick Alfie fans off. As I noted it's probably moot, as barring a drastic change in direction, the Sens won't be a cap team. So, relax. However, I do disagree with those that think his legacy would be tarnished. He will never play for another team. The transaction would be a paper one, and he would immediately begin work within the hockey operations department of the Sens. He'd be the first legacy player to be traded in the NHL that would actually keep his legacy intact, as he would never actually play for the team he was traded to.Steve Lloydhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09542029414372153828noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8806695801926311947.post-76476111493505403872012-05-11T07:26:35.426-04:002012-05-11T07:26:35.426-04:00Not cool...Not cool...Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8806695801926311947.post-67531186625570509292012-05-10T23:24:22.408-04:002012-05-10T23:24:22.408-04:00Why tarnish Alfie's legacy of only having been...Why tarnish Alfie's legacy of only having been a Senator just to clear some cap space? I remember taking my then 5 year old son to the long ago defunct "Sens' Carnival". Most of the players looked bored and frankly angry to have to be there. Only Lalime and Ron Tugnut appeared to actually enjoy being there and seemed genuinely happy to be interacting with the fans. Lalime even let my son try on his mask, trapper and blocker. That easy, unforced kindness is what I will remember most about Lalime. More often than not Lalime was a winner in Ottawa.Malcolm from Stittsvillehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05696450518430686849noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8806695801926311947.post-68852005769001867732011-07-20T15:38:01.109-04:002011-07-20T15:38:01.109-04:00Stats are for losers. In the 2003 series vs New Jersey especially, he was extremely shaky giving NJ an undeserved 3-1 series lead that they almost managed to pull out. While he was a decent pro, he wasn't the elite level goaltender the Senators needed to reach their potential.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8806695801926311947.post-26505549067701274022011-07-15T11:07:09.792-04:002011-07-15T11:07:09.792-04:00Great comments re: cap floor. Only at that point, I'm thinking, will Cowen get a regular spot, in addition to a rotating cast of forwards auditioning in the final 20 games for the following year.
